Shane Young is a Hakomi practitioner, Trained Medicine Guide and IFS Trained Transformational Coach. Ganesha is particularly significant to Shane, and his logo is based on the Hindu god. I created a logo shows Shane's steadfastness and strength through the hard-edged geometry, thick white lines and gray color. Ganesha's laughing eyes and the line of dots down his trunk show a little of Shane's playful side. You can see the logo in use on Shane's website.
Kroma was an executive recruitment firm. I love the idea of the two triangles overlapping as a metaphor the executive and the company coming together. They form a third triangle when they overlap, which I think of as the recruiter, bringing them together. The clean lines and bold colors of this logo recall modernist graphic design.
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Quantum Integral Healing Arts is a healing practice fusing Eastern and Western medical thought and philosophy to inform their treatments. They also facilitate Ketamine therapy. The triangle in their logo references the trinities found in spiritual practices across the world. The colors reference the 5 Element Wheel of Chinese Medicine, and also feel psychedelic. The triangle is both symmetrical and asymmetrical, connoting the meeting of Eastern and Western medical philosophies. The stepped pattern feels both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, like a staircase, aperture or portal. These references evoke the self-examination one does with psychotherapy and Ketamine therapy. You can see a case study of my process of creating this logo, and the style guide I designed for Quantum here. And you can see the website I designed for Quantum here.
Good Medicine Intuitive Skincare is a luxury natural skincare line based in the Utah Desert. They had an existing logo which contained most of the elements in the above logo, but it wasn't very harmonious, and use of the logo wasn't consistent. I refined Good Medicine's logo and created several variations of it for client use. I also created a style guide, color palette, social media and newsletter template for Good Medicine, which you can see here.
Maria Moya Tennis Academy is coastal resort town Nosara, Costa Rica's premiere tennis facility. Nosara is known for its beautiful beaches and surfing waves. The logo captures the energy, power and motion of both an ocean wave, and an expert tennis player. The blue-green gradient further references Nosara's natural beauty. The linear and geometric typography form a masculine foil to the logo's feminine fluidity.
Bali Box was a Bali "Vacation in a Box" I created during the pandemic. It was a lovingly curated selection of handmade Balinese items shipped from Bali to the US in a beautiful offering box. Bali Box gave some support to artisans suffering from lack of tourism during Covid, and offered Americans with wanderlust an opportunity to experience a little Bali magic. The logo’s color references Bali’s tropical ocean. The “o”s and “b”s are a little like coconuts. And the words nest into the box, similarly to the way I packed items into the Bali Box. You can see the Bali Box product here.
Thrive Mountain Consulting is an Asheville, North Carolina law office providing strategic legal and policy insight for non-profits and private companies. I used mountains in Thrive's logo as Asheville is a mountain town, and my client loved the idea of a client "finding their peak" by working with his office. I love the way the whitespace of the mountains is unbound; it implies freedom to me.
PowerSlot is an innovative startup creating movable electrical power solutions that are simple and safe. Their designs revolutionize the power strip and give consumers freedom to use as many outlets and USB outlets as they need. I created a logo that's minimal, straightforward and powerful for PowerSlot. The "o" shows a metaphorical connection between two separate elements, displaying a visual metaphor for PowerSlot's function. This logo will adapt well to being embossed or otherwise affixed to the client's physical products. You can see the logo in use on PowerSlot's website.
Dancing Lotus is Bay Area medicine guide Jennifer DeRuff's consultancy. Medicine work can lead to a client blooming, like a lotus. I created a lotus that connotes movement and is layered, to reflect this process. The lower petals are dark, evoking the shadow self that one must alchemize in this process. At the center of the lotus are red tones, like the inner fire that medicine work can stoke. The orange middle petals continue this flame metaphor. The typography is lyrical and graceful and its lines relate well to the lotus, and it brings more "dance" to the logo. I didn't design Jennifer's site, but her logo looks great on it – you can see it here.
All You Need Iz Love is Laura Schneider's brand; she's an amazing Bay Area-based relationship, sex and intimacy coach. The butterfly in her logo is a timeless symbol of transformation. Hearts represent self-love and love for another, and combine to create an infinity symbol, alluding to the infinite cycle of love and reciprocity. The logo has a psychedelic feeling to it, which really fits Laura’s personal style. We used a font that’s fun and distinctive, and the purple color brings out the warm, welcoming, and fun aspects of Laura’s brand. We’ve extended the brand with a website, business cards, stickers, postcards and return address labels. MoonRex Studio is a consultancy specializing in product and packaging development, e-commerce solutions, fundraising and acquisition guidance and more. My client had an existing logo that had some positive elements, but wasn't quite working visually, and wasn't harmonious. I updated the mark so the T-rex and rocket ship were more visually legible, and updated the typeface to a more compelling font that works well with the shapes and weight of the mark.
Jenny L. Young is a psychotherapist. This logo was created for her website, which catalogs her personal journey of healing, and marries the spiritual with the clinical. Her logo is a unique combination of a Celtic knot and an ouroboros. Both of these symbols hold significant meaning for Jenny. The Celtic knot stands for interconnection, and the infinite nature of the knot highlights the cycle of life, death and rebirth. The ouroboros, a snake eating its own tail, also signifies cycles of life, patterns and infinity. You can see the logo on Jenny's website. She had a strong vision about her website; I collaborated with her to refine it and make it harmonious.
I created this fun Bali logo for garment applications for extreme sports hub site, Extrevity. They were selling shirts and other soft goods with graphics reflecting the locations of their various extreme sports.
